Delete your account

This permanently removes your WTF Should I Watch sign-in and the app data attached to it. There is no undo or encore.

Delete in the app

Open Profile.
Choose Account & Data.
Select the delete action and verify with Apple, Google, or your current password.
Read the final warning, then confirm Delete Permanently.

Reauthentication protects you from someone deleting an account from an unattended device. Apple users will be asked for fresh Apple authorization so we can revoke the app connection.

CAN'T ACCESS THE APP?

Request deletion by email

Email us from the address associated with your account. Include whether you used Apple, Google, or email sign-in. Never send us a password, Apple authorization code, or Google security code.

Email a deletion request

We may ask you to verify ownership before deleting anything. If the button does not open your email app, write to wtfsiw@aimixtapes.com with the subject “Delete my WTFSIW account.”

Apple

Delete in the app and verify with Apple. We revoke WTFSIW's Apple connection; your Apple Account is not deleted.

Google

Delete in the app and verify with Google. Your WTFSIW account is removed; your Google Account is not deleted.

Email

Delete in the app using your current password. If you cannot sign in, use the email-request path above.

Guest

There is no Apple-, Google-, or email-backed account. Use Reset Local Guest in Profile, then clear app storage or remove the app to erase remaining guest cache from the device.

What is deleted

Your Firebase sign-in record and WTFSIW account profile, including provider identifiers and account details shared with us.
Saved titles, custom lists and their items, watch history, dismissals, ratings, and feedback.
Taste signals, streaming preferences, recommendation briefs, and other account settings.
Shared collections you created, legacy watchlist records, registered push tokens, and this device's cache for the deleted account.
WTFSIW's Apple or Google authorization connection, where the provider supplies a revocation mechanism.

What is briefly retained

A minimal security tombstone containing the account identifier, deletion status, and timestamps prevents stale devices from restoring deleted data and lets an interrupted deletion finish safely. Once deletion completes, that marker is scheduled to expire after 48 hours; automated removal may take up to one additional day. An interrupted marker remains only until automated repair can finish the deletion, then follows the same expiry schedule. Rate-limit security records tied to a network or request identifier may remain for up to five days to prevent abuse. Provider logs or backups may remain for the limited periods required by the provider or by law.

This does not delete your Apple or Google Account. It removes your WTFSIW account and its connection to those providers.
